The Lounge

What is the DC Threads Sewing Lounge?

GWFCC and DC Dept. Parks and Recreation logos

DC Threads Sewing lounge is a program sponsored by the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. It is held on the second Saturday of every month and provides an opportunity for anyone interested in sewing—from beginners to experts—to share sewing tips, learn new techniques, and even work on projects together with sewing machines available on site.

When and Where is the DC Threads Sewing Lounge?

Sessions are held from 1-4pm on the second Saturday of each month at the North Michigan Recreation Center. There is plenty of parking available, and the center is located within a 15-20 minute walk from the Fort Totten metro on the red and green lines. Click here for a Google map and walking directions from the metro.
