Join the ASG
The American Sewing Guild (ASG) is a national non-profit membership organization that supports sewing as an art and life skill. Membership is only $40 a year, an amount that more than pays for itself through the great discounts at fabric stores, an informative monthly newsletter, and access to a daily listserv. DC currently does not have its own chapter of the ASG (the nearest local chapter is Maryland), but there several ASG neighborhood groups in the area.
