Love was in the air at the February 14 session of the DC Threads Sewing Lounge, where over 20 loungers gathered to share their affection for fabric, thread, and good company. We couldn’t have made this lounge such a success without the help of some stellar volunteers. |
Helen De Roo, former president of the Maryland ASG, gave a very informative tutorial on understanding garment patterns, with a focus on the markings that are often overlooked when we lay our pattern pieces onto fabric. Andrea Schewe, Judy Freedman, and Sara Cormeny also did a fantastic job of helping other loungers along with projects. We can’t thank them enough for their assistance!
As always, if you are interested in volunteering or have fabric or sewing machines to donate, just contact us. And as we continue to grow, we are also looking for individuals who want to play a role in the direction of DC Threads, so if you have ideas, recommendations, or are interested in serving on an advisory board, please be in touch.
Stay tuned for more details on the next sewing lounge on March 14! If you’re not already on our email list, be sure to sign up so you can receive reminders before the session.
