DC Threads is off to a great start for 2009! Our first sewing lounge of the year boasted its largest attendance to date, with over a dozen participants ages 12-50+. First time sewists and threaded veterans spent the afternoon trying out new projects and making friends with others who love to sew. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We’re SEW excited to be growing–but we need your help!! In order to keep this lounge as fun and educational as it has been so far, we are looking for additional volunteers with some sewing experience who can lend their guidance to new learners. We’re also looking for donations of sewing machines (any condition) and fabric. If you think you can help, or know someone else who can, just contact us.
Mark your calendars for our next session on February 14 (yes, Valentine’s Day). Our topic for the month will be clothing patterns, so bring one you’d like to try or have been working on and we’ll answer questions and show you tips and tricks for making your pattern work for you. Or (as always) try out one of the many other projects we’ve introduced in our sessions. You can find them all on our pattern page.
